Location: Port AllenHours: Mon-Thurs 7am-4pm and Friday 7am-12pmJob Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Research Technician. The primary responsibilities include data collection from various insect species and assisting in the setup, automation, and optimization of insect colonies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, willing to learn, and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.Key Responsibilities:Collect data from various insect species, including but not limited to: crickets, mealworms, and super worms.Aid in the initial colony setup, automation, and optimization processes.Ensure accurate data collection and entry.Operate Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel for data documentation, analysis, and report generation.Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized workspace.Handle live insects as part of daily duties.Qualifications:No prior experience with insect production required; willingness to learn is essential.Basic understanding of experimental design and data collection/entry.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and documentation.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks with accuracy.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Must be able to follow procedures and make decisions based on policy and procedures.Animal and/or reptile background a plus.Physical Requirements:Ability to stand for long periods and work in hot and humid environments.Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. with minimal assistance.Additional Requirements:Must be punctual and have reliable transportation.Must be comfortable working with and handling live insects.#CDRHL
