Description:
The Department of Surgery at Tulane Medical School is actively
recruiting a dedicated thoracic---surgeon at the rank of Assistant
or Associate Professor to be a part of our Thoracic Oncology
Program.---The Gulf South leads the nation in deaths related to
aerodigestive cancers and the right faculty candidate---for this
position must possess a desire to assist in developing a---growing
thoracic oncology program and be committed to the---tripartite
mission of---clinical, educational, and research
excellence.------Candidates will be board-certified by the ABTS and
have a demonstrated expertise in surgery for tumors of the chest,
including cancer of the lung, esophagus, chest wall and
mediastinum.--- Expertise in minimally invasive thoracic surgery
and robotic surgery is necessary as is experience in advanced
pulmonary resections and---esophagectomies.------The candidate will
be a member of the division of cardiothoracic surgery and will be
involved in the training of general surgery residents and teaching
of rotating medical students. The chosen candidate will be expected
to work closely with the various multidisciplinary teams within the
hospital system and build and develop---ties throughout---our wider
referral network through strategic and programmatic partnerships to
grow the surgical volume.--- The ideal candidate should have a
track record of clinical excellence and would have a strong
academic interest to pursue clinical, basic, and/or translational
research.--- The applicant must qualify for a Louisiana medical
license. - Qualifications:MD. Candidates will be board-certified or
