We're seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Nephrologist for an exciting opportunity to serve as Section Head of Pediatric Nephrology at Ochsner Hospital for Children in New Orleans, Louisiana. The successful candidate will develop and lead a comprehensive pediatric kidney care program within Ochsner's Health's regional health system, the largest not-for-profit academic health system in the Gulf South.Key responsibilities of this position include:Leadership and Program Development

• Collaborate with Departmental leaders to develop and lead an integrated regional pediatric nephrology program.
• Opportunity for qualified candidates to develop a pediatric kidney transplant program to complement existing pediatric liver, heart, and bone marrow transplant programs.Clinical Care
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient kidney care for children with acute, chronic and end-stage renal disease.
  • Partner with medical and surgical colleagues to serve children with complex conditions in multidisciplinary programs.Teaching and Research
    • Teach medical students, residents, and allied health students.
    • Clinical and translational research opportunities abound for qualified candidates.
    • Academic appointment commensurate with experience.Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Children's ) represents over 230 physicians. The group is the region's leading integrated provider of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, and the region's only comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center. We recently announced the building of a new separate, comprehensive, dedicated Children's Hospital on our main campus, with expected opening in 2027. We currently care for patients in an expanding 67-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide in-house pediatric and neonatal transport teams. In addition to patient care, Ochsner Children's Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland.
