We're seeking a Board-Certified Adolescent Medicine Physician
for an exciting opportunity to serve as Medical Director,
Adolescent Medicine at Ochsner Hospital for Children in New
Orleans, Louisiana. The successful candidate will develop an
adolescent medicine program within Ochsner's Health's regional
health system, the largest not-for-profit academic health system in
the Gulf South.This position will include work with:Leadership and
Education:
- Play an integral role in residency and medical student training
and oversight for our pediatric residency, potentially including a
position as Associate Program Director
- Provide consultation and teaching for outpatient and inpatient
pediatrics teams regarding the care of adolescents and conditions
that present frequently in adolescence
- Provide leadership for and education in adolescent health
locally and throughout the Gulf SouthConsultation:
- Provide consultation to general pediatricians, pediatric
subspecialists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and family medicine
physicians to help in the management of adolescents. Those consults
will include, but are not limited to:
- High-risk behaviors
- Reproductive health
- Transition typically developing and medically complex patients
from pediatric to adult medicine Gender Medicine Care:
- Integrate into a multidisciplinary pediatric gender medicine
team within a larger gender medicine clinic serving children,
adolescents and adults and provide consultation and follow-up to
adolescents.Our comprehensive Pediatrics Program including primary
care pediatricians and pediatric medical and surgical
subspecialists (Ochsner Children's ) represents over 230
physicians. The group is the region's leading integrated provider
of multispecialty care for newborns, infants, children,
adolescents, and young adults. We offer a full range of pediatric
complex specialty services including congenital heart surgery and
cardiac transplantation, liver and bone marrow transplantation, a
comprehensive surgical sub-specialty group, and the region's only
comprehensive multidisciplinary developmental center. We recently
announced the building of a new separate, comprehensive, dedicated
Children's Hospital on our main campus, with expected opening in
2027. We currently care for patients in an expanding 67-bed Level
IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric
CV-ICU, and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated
pediatric emergency room, and full-time, region-wide in-house
pediatric and neonatal transport teams.In addition to patient care,
Ochsner Children's Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric
residency program and is responsible for teaching pediatric
residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as
well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of
Queensland. Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana
recently announced an agreement to establish a joint College of
